The Road Not Taken.

Don’t know why I am thinking about it over and over again.

I believe some of you had heard a poem entitled “The Road Not Taken” before? It may not be interesting to you, but somehow you will find that it is full of philosophy of life.

The Road Not Taken-Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

What about you? I believe everyone had the same experience before. Imaging in a lovely morning, you were lying in your bed, and the alarm rings. What would you do? Will you get up quickly and get ready for a new day? Or you will “drag” a little time to have a 5-minutes-sleep? It is about choices. We are making choice every day, every minute, even in every second. Sometimes those choices we made bring minor effect—to drink coffee or tea during breakfast, to dress in a casual date, etc. However, sometimes the effect is huge, for example, choosing a career path, or picking your life partner. There are people who will hesitate for a while, identify the pros and cons, make predicament of what will he or she get if they ever making the choices. There are also people who simply follow their heart, too, without much consideration. The only similarity is, whatever path you have chosen, there is no turning back any more  What you can do is keep going, and making new choices in front of you.

Have you regretted any choice you made? I dare not say there is anyone who never regret on anything, as we are still young, or we had been young before. It is normal to feel regret, to make mistakes, and that is how we learn. Learning is a life-long process, we keep learning from mistakes, and this enable us to make a wiser choice in future.

  2. If i'm correct, we used to learn this poem during our sec years?...

Anyway, this poem hold great meaning indeed. As for me, it tells me that any decisions that we made, past, now or future we should not not be completely regretful about it even if it's turn out not the way we wanted. Yes, we could have get a better result if we chose the other way but every things that we done alway contain a spark of optimism.

Truthfully, being regretful about the past would stuck you forever in that moment and we people should look ahead to do something we love.

Lastly, any paths we taken that are deemed less chosen by people may not be a bad thing. A bad moment at that time but it's the impetus for us leap forward while adding to our knowledge that only the minority that chosen such result would possess.

    A meaning poem indeed.

    1. Sorry for replying you late~ I was buried in works nowadays and the laziness was keeping me away from blogger for months...

Ya, why regret? All of your choices mould into who you are now, and this make every individual differ with each other...There is no any absolute correct path to follow, all depend on how we endure the consequences and outshine~Everyone has their own experiences due to different choices they made, and my friend, always keep the faith even you encounter any difficulties in you life!
